Kool Keyboard Program
What’s It All About?
The Kool Keyboard Program provides a great foundation for learning instruments as it focuses on a variety of musical fundamentals. Its strength is its ability to sound like almost any instrument and it can also simulate instrumental combinations such as a rock band, a jazz band, even a full orchestra. The Kool Keyboard Program develops skill in reading music, developing timing, learning the language of music and exploring different styles. It also offers an opportunity not only to learn a piece of music, but to present it, using all the features contained on the very user friendly keyboards.
How Is The Kool Keyboard Program Taught?
The format involves group tuition of up to 5 students in a weekly half-hour lesson, involving one tutor. (Private individual lessons can be arranged) The tutor spends time with each child, but the success of the tuition depends on the child’s ability to learn to work independently, following the routines given. Keyboards are provided for each child in the group, and because headphones are used, each child proceeds with his/her program at his/her own pace. An annual CVM concert is performed each year as well as additional performance opportunities where possible.
How Much Does It Cost?
Group lessons for 2020 cost $15 per lesson and private lessons at $32 per half hour lesson (includes GST). Fees are payable on your invoice and may be made by Cash or EFT – information required for this appears on the invoice. All tutors are obliged to give the number of lessons your child has been invoiced for. The exception to this rule is when a child is absent from school on extended holidays or a lengthy illness. Should these exceptions apply to you, please contact the CVM office and an adjustment will be made.
Please note that CVM is not obliged to make up lessons missed due to general illness, school camps, etc., but will endeavour to do so as much as possible. Invoices MUST be paid within the 14 day period so as to maintain a secured place for your child. (The Customer shall pay the Supplier for all costs incurred by the Supplier (including costs for which the Supplier may be contingently liable) in any attempt to collect any monies owed by the Customer to the Supplier under this Agreement including debt collection agent costs, repossession costs, location search costs, process server costs and solicitor costs on a solicitor/client basis).
When Are Lessons Conducted?
Depending on the School and Teacher availability, lessons are conducted in school time, recess and lunch time, before and after school.
Is A Keyboard Necessary?
Not at first, but having one is a distinct advantage. A limited number of keyboards are available for hire, and preference is given to children re-enrolling, or new students from grade 6 downwards. Keyboards may be hired for $3 per week. Please contact Joe for additional information.
When Do Lessons Commence?
Term 1 2020 lessons will commence early to mid February. The date of commencement will be confirmed via personal text message and on your Invoice, sent out after the receipt of your Enrolment Form.
Happy Keyboard Playing!
