Brilliant Band Program

What’s It All About?

The Brilliant Program provides an opportunity for students who have been learning an instrument for at least 6 months to come together with other alternate instrumentalists and create their own ensemble. They learn about song structure, song arrangements, various chord progressions and rhythmic requirements for different genres and how to listen to each other and allow the music create itself through their jamming sessions..

How Is The Brilliant Band Program Taught?

The format involves group tuition in a weekly half-hour lesson, involving one or two tutors, depending on the number of students in the ensemble. Students work together in a group putting together arrangements of elected songs. They explore group and individual elements they feel comfortable participating in and learn to extend their skills in a fun and supportive environment. Ultimately the success of the tuition requires students to learn the material provided to them for home practice. Due to the responsibility each child has for their instrument in the band, this is very helpful in motivating students to practice.

How Much Does It Cost?

Group lessons for 2020 cost $15 per lesson. Fees are payable on your invoice and may be made by Cash or EFT – information required for this appears on the invoice. All tutors are obliged to give the number of lessons your child has been invoiced for. The exception to this rule is when a child is absent from school on extended holidays or a lengthy illness. Should these exceptions apply to you, please contact the CVM office and an adjustment will be made.

Please note that CVM is not obliged to make up lessons missed due to general illness, school camps, etc., but will endeavour to do so as much as possible. Invoices MUST be paid within the 14 day period so as to maintain a secured place for your child. (The Customer shall pay the Supplier for all costs incurred by the Supplier (including costs for which the Supplier may be contingently liable) in any attempt to collect any monies owed by the Customer to the Supplier under this Agreement including debt collection agent costs, repossession costs, location search costs, process server costs and solicitor costs on a solicitor/client basis).

Is An Instrument Necessary?

At this stage, at least hiring a melodic instrument is helpful.

When Do Lessons Commence?

Term 1 2020 lessons will commence early to mid February. The date of commencement will be confirmed via personal text message and on your Invoice, sent out after the receipt of your Enrolment Form.

Happy Jamming!
