About Crystal Valley Music

Established in 2011, Crystal Valley Music is a family owned and run business. Originating as an instrumental, vocal and performing arts teaching service, specialising in music and performing arts tuition programs in schools.

Joe Davis is the Teaching Director at CVM. He is a highly qualified and experienced teacher of nearly 20 years in classroom music and vocal, instrumental and drama programs. He organises group lessons for students in interested schools providing demonstrations, timetables around specialist programs, teachers and participation from students at school functions where required. Joe tries to collaborate with CVM students from all participating schools with public performances. He organises teacher workshops for teachers and runs the drama and music theatre side of the Dance and Performing Arts Programs.

Joe Davis

Hello, My name is Joe Davis and I am from Myrtleford. I am very pleased to be taking over the Crystal Valley Music teaching program. I also teach music at Bright P-12, Porepunkah Primary and St.Mary’s Myrtleford. I’m developing music programs that not only get kids super excited about playing music, but also give as many children as possible access to instruments and training. This is because I believe that music is absolutely fundamental to development in many ways.

Throughout term three I have been working with Celine Muir (who I studied music with over 20 years ago in Melbourne) to gain a good understanding of how the Crystal Valley music program works, meeting the kids and also working with two fine music educators Billy Monroe and Gabriel Chowanetz who will also be delivering the Crystal Valley music program at schools throughout the North East.

Moving into the future I look forward to working with your school to continue to provide and develop a fantastic music program that can offer kids the opportunity to grow in confidence and find their creativity all whilst learning and having fun.

Phillip Stone

Hello, my name is Phillip Stone and I am pleased to be taking over from Gabe Chowanetz teaching the Crystal Valley Music Program along with Joe Davis at Rutherglen Primary School. I have 40 years’ experience as a professional musician and performer, and have spent an extensive amount of time as a studio musician and recorded for TV, film and various artists’ albums.

Now I have come back home to provide music tuition to the North East of Victoria.

Billy Munro

My name is Billy Munro and I am from Yackandandah.

Together with Joe Davis I am excited to be working with the kids at Beechworth Primary and St. Patricks Wangaratta running the Crystal Valley Music program from term 4.

I also teach music at Wooragee, Middle Indigo and Osbournes flat Primary. I teach Guitar, Uke, Mandolin, Violin, Vocals, Drums, Keyboards and Band.
